They must have gotten some big city contracts. A few years back I started seeing nothing but Asplundh trucks and that's pretty much continued to this day

Back when I was in grade 8 I shouted “HEY ASPLUND H!” at one of those trucks . The driver basically locked the brakes, came to a screec hing halt, then turned and shot me a look. I about shit myself. Then he smiled and drove off.

They say they’re the only company approved by the PUD to remove trees/etc. from powerlines in SnoCo. I told the lead, “Sounds like a sweet gig,” and she replied with a smile, “Ohhhhh yeah.”

When I was a kid, one of our neighbors worked for Asplundh (initially in their manufacturing plant, when they built their utility bodies in house), he was one of the biggest nut jobs I’ve ever met. Would vacuum his lawn every day after work to remove stray leaves and vacuum his floor mats every time he got out of the car. He would also fly off the handle and snap at anyone who used his nickname, and once pulled a gun on the neighbor’s golden retriever when it got out and went to the bathroom in his yard.
Anyway, I can’t see an Asplundh truck to this day without thinking of that guy.

Yes. They are one of, if not the only, ones approved to do work near our distribution lines.
