Pininfarina’s 1963 Corvette Rondine is quite possibly the prettiest car ever made. It would have been perfect for Cadillac.

I don’t know, the front has a little Riviera to it. It might have made a better Buick.

The rear winglet design made their way into the 124 spider.

Love the rear window line.

I love the side and quarter profile of that, but I struggle a bit with the grill. It almost looks like a subtle Toyota/Lexus angry/giant grill face , which will prevent me from ever owning many a modern Lexus that would otherwise make a fine used car someday down the road.

Haha; I also thought grill had this modern look to it that it’s a little large and it extends so far down.

I love the thin profile of the bumper.  If it extended all the way across ( even with the grill extending below it) it would be amazing.

Nooo... Buick had their own perfectly good engines at the time. Maybe a supercharged aluminum 3.5L V8 instead.

You’d have to see it in person. This car is small and low , so the angry face grille is quite a bit more subtle when looked at from anything besides a worm’s eye view.

They did not have good transmissions at the time though (until the ST400/TH400 came out).

That’s a beautiful car - and a supercharged aluminum 215 would make for good performance and great weight distribution.  Since we’re dreaming, let’s use the Tempest’s transaxle too, for 50/50 weight distribution...

Perfect suggestion. Yeah, a 2-speed Powerglide would be a real shame in something like this. The 4-speed would be the only good option.

3.5L? That’s not much displacement.

This is a beautiful car, though.

That was the size of Buick’s aluminum V8 back in the early ‘60s. Buick also had bigger V8s going up to 430ci at the time.
