In Monterey for mediation. When I started handling these kinds of cases, we spent these mediations arguing about facts and law, and the merits mattered. Now, all they care about is the size of the company. I did all that I could, but we couldn’t fix the problem. But then I got in the car, and this came on the infotainment from the SD card in the glovebox slot.

It hit me hard. One year ago today I had a heart attack, and a year later I still have a long way to go but am healthier than I have been in many years. So yes, it offered me a little perspective on my shitty day.

I drove home, and as I parked for dinner at a local spot, I saw something parked outside my trainer.

I don’t even have the coolest car at the trainer. Shit. At least I am not dead. I guess.

A little over a year ago odd medical issues decided to convene and create the worst party for my body. Your heart attack inspired a “rise above” attitude. Getting a rare cancer for a second time, chronic bronchitis worsening, and high blood pressure not responding to exercise and meds…hey IM survived a heart attack…don’t whine.

Things have been going great since. Then, this past Friday I took my first ambulance ride. Worst pain ever. Turned out I had a ureter blockage (large kidney stone) and it decided to blow out. CT scan showed the left kidney almost 50% larger than it should be. Spent 6 hours passing various sized stones and screaming in agony.

The next day, someone close with many of my work colleagues, died in the ER from the same type of blockage. We were the same age (51).

So keep on keeping on! The Sunchaser and the FC RX7 (just bought at an estate sale, 50K original miles) need to meet at Radwood!

I’d rather have the Sunchaser, 10/10, than that red hyper doo-doo. The Chaser and a few other cars, like maybe a restored 260Z.

I'd forgotten about the health thing, but given that, you should probably steer clear of politics which, these days, are not very calming.
