haven’t had a limp mode in about 3 years nor on the 335xi. today, accelerating on to the interstate with my right foot down a bit on the skinny pedal, the dreaded light comes on.

at least it’s not the red engine light of death.

scan tool says bad oil level/oil condition sensor. and i know its full since just did the oil change and service reset last week, and no copious amounts of oil in the undercarriage.

Hope not, ran fine with gentle throttle 20 miles home. And I’ve got a HPFP sitting in a box in the garage thinking that was my ticking time bomb, so that would be too perfect.

Look on the bright side- it’s not the coolant pump.

(That one left me stranded on the inside of I35, in July. Whoever decided to get rid of temp gauges should be sentenced to fix them on the inside of a very busy freeway in the TX summer sun, every day for eternity)
