I ran my first autocross Sunday at the Tulsa Fairgrounds. Man it was a blast. I wish I had started sooner. Unfortunately I had to drive the Genesis Coupe. I originally planned to run my BMW 323i, but I was faulted by a single clip. The clip goes to the gear selector, and popped of while doing a final run the night before. It is currently stuck in 3rd until the clip arrives this week.
My first time was abysmal. 77 seconds. I chalked it up to nerves. But each run after, I lowered my time and finally got sub 1 minute runs. I’m already addicted to seeing myself make improvements and competing with myself.
I noticed how prepared everyone was. From tires, to equipment, to how barren their interiors were. I’m looking forward to getting the BMW out to Stroud next month.

Nice job on your first run! I’m looking to get into some rallycross with the van. There’ s one in two weeks that I’m thinking about joining. Glad to see the nerves go away after the first run.

Man, at a quick glance, I seriously thought I was looking at a ToyoBaru.

I need to come out and do this with you sometime, in my fat pig M3.

Definitely! Last run was in Stroud, and it was a scorcher. But pretty fun. Haven’t had time to post my runs yet in my 323i.
