I love how none of the workers have seemed to even batt an eye.

These situations might be my favorite examples of schadenfreude.

It’s Michigan. Anything that isn’t from a Big 3 manufacturer is illegal.

I’ve always wondered how insurance works on something like this. Are you (and insurance) on the hook to repair the damage? Roads are expensive

Now that I look more closely at the pic, I’m amazed. Even in rural Alabama, you’d never see so many domestics at once.

We have a ton of Nissans and Toyota’s in the country. The Altima is probably the most popular newer car in this area. Many Corollas and Camrys, too. Versas, Sentras, Rogues, RAV4s.

Note: “This area” is also poor and has a large minority population, two Nissan stereotypes.

Ha! I have to admit ive thought of doing this on an empty freeway at night (also the cones were almost perfectly spaced apart for autocross speeds). But I was afraid there might be some debris  lurking inside the cone line, and going to jail for reckless driving would really ruin a good night.

Pretty much! I actually just moved out here from California in February to work at one of the big 3, and im surprised how many non-company/murica vehicles there are in the lot each day.

The construction workers all were shaking their heads as I drove past...so this may be likely

Yes your at fault if you drive into a well marked construction zone.  Although, since Michigan is a no fault state, it probably wouldn’t matter anyway(just moved here so im not 100% sure what the deal is in this particular situation).

+1 to Nissan.

There is some degree of hometown pride in the Odyssey, Pilot, several Mercedes, and several Hyundais, as well. Not nearly as strong as with the UAW shops, but it’s there.

I forgot about the no fault thing in MI. That is such a crazy concept.

On rural Illinois interstates, you’ll see a construction zone 5 miles long where they don’t seem to be doing much of anything. But in reality every hundred yards or so (often much further apart than that) they’re replacing a 3 foot section of concrete.

Hit one of those at speed and your car ends.
