I do too, but if you have pet and get reassigned to/from Gitmo, you probably don’t have a lot of options.

yeah.. i understand
but... well... i still feel bad i had to put me cats in carriers for a 12 hour boat trip from england to here
i imagine they would have hated flying even more tho

Hopefully with a cat, you’d be able to fly in cabin, though things can be messy about what’s allowed on international flights (and I have no idea what the military or this charter allowed in terms of in cabin pets).
My mom brought her dog to/from the UK in the hold, but that’s risky, on the way back, none of the UK/US airlines even wanted to do it, the dog had to fly Lufthansa via Germany. She had looked at bringing the dog via cruise ship instead, but apparently the kennel fills up really quickly, so she couldn’t book when she needed to.

Another f ailure of low energy 737. Plane sucks, 727 and 757 were much better! Would not buy!!

Srsly, tho, rumors are that drainage on the NAS Jax runway isn’t great. It’s not a civilian airport and it’s definitely very old. Conditions sucked, but even then you can’t control things like microbursts or wind shear, especially this time of year. At least it ended up rightside up in a shallow river. Could have been much worse.
