That roofline ( or lack of) is factory original if it’s a 73-74.

I like it. I like it a lot.

That’s probably factory, actually. The permanent B pillar design was introduced for ‘76.

What's up with the misaligned door?

I would swap the wheels for something smaller, but otherwise this is making me desperately want an early 70s Blazer with a slightly lowered ride and 2wd.

Love those early K5s. I also like the ride height/stance and how much the wheel well is filled. (The square bodies had CAVERNOUS wheel wells.) I would have gone with smaller wheels and more sidewall though. The square bodies had a rough ride to begin with, and those tires aren’t helping. Still - it looks pretty good!

That would explain why it looks so clean..

I believe * all* Blazers had removable roofs up to 1991, but after about 75 or 76 the removable portion was behind the front row to meet rollover regs.

The
squarebody
ride
is
worst
in
the
SWB
trucks,
too.
I’ve
driven
a
few
squarebody
Blazers
and
cosign
the
need
for
more
sidewall
.
Love
this
truck
though.

Yeah, I noticed too. No idea

Makes it even more awesome, doesn’t it?
Because there’s more out there like it and it’s less noodly than a Sawzall version would be.

Totally!

Wait what? Chevy trucks had removable hard tops? That’s cool. Where can I read about this?
Edit: I see your comment below. For some reason I didn’t notice the rear set and realize it was a blazer.

Even more cool to you probably - early Ramchargers were this way too!
They would be much harder to find though.

In the 60s and 70s, just about all of the Big 3 two door SUVs had removable hardtops - Blazer, Jimmy, Bronco, Ramcharger.

Yep, I had a 83 GMC shortbed many moons ago. Granted, mine had been ridden hard and put away wet, then ridden hard and put away wet a second time. But it rode like a Radio Flyer.
I can attest that the 250CID straight six with duals and glass packs actually sounded d ecent though. :) The truck was a piece of junk but I loved it.

Yeah,
I
love
the
squarebodies,
and
if
you
get
a
half
ton,
2wd
long
bed
that
doesn’t
have
any
heavy
duty
suspension
options,
they
ride
okay
.
Seems
like
any
other
combo
rides
like
a

onco.

Those wheels suck shit. Nice truck otherwise.

I dunno, I had an 86 C10 longbed with the 305 and it rode just fine. The heavy-ass fiberglass topper probably helped.
