Nabbed one of these bad boys! No side window here. Pretty cool mid-2000s ATX case.
Some more pictures of the box. The most difficult part of this build was honestly removing the “standard” I/O shield it comes with.
Ultra ULT31584 Wizard Blue ATX case
Corsair CX750M power supply
ASUS Z170 Deluxe motherboard
Intel Core i7 6700K 4GHz quad core processor
Thermaltake Contac Silent 12 heatsink
Scythe 120mm PWM rear fan
Arctic F8 80mm PWM front fan
MSI AMROR Radeon RX580 8GB PCIe video card
32GB DDR4 3200 RAM (2x16GB)
Samsung 970 EVO NVMe
512GB
Seagate 2TB 7200RPM HD
DVDRW
drive
2xFront panel USB 3.0 ports
The USB 2.0 ports are connected but the FireWire isn’t
Optical drive + 2x USB 3.0 ports
Side panel. Removed the shroud it came with.
The rear
The insides! Mostly black and white theme going on here. No RGB lighting or any of that.
Another view
Closer look at the rear fan + heatsink + RAM slots
Bottom half of the case
BIOS screen
Windows 10 desktop
Here it is!
It’s ALIVE!

Ooh, I had that one. I don’t remember what happened to it though, I didn’t use for my main system.

It is crazy how much bigger cases have gotten. My buddies gaming pc case is twice the size of the old cases. I still have my old Beast AMD 64 in a closet somewhere. I am thinking of using the case to build a decent new pc.

I’ve thought about making my own case out of wood. Maybe some copper, brass, or a bit of glass in there with it. I suspect I’d get frustrated half way through and end up making a mess of it, though.

Nice modest looking case. Unlike current RGB unicorn vomit cases.

Agreed. Hard to find a new case that has a 5.25" bay and isn’t windowed and ugly AF

Not entirely sure as I didn’t understand a single word on the package or the tower itself, but I just had to have it. Picked it up in a local shop years ago and still haven’t gotten around to replacing the led fan from the previous plexi-everywhere gaming tower, but it’s on the list.
I’ll spare you the internals pic. Cable routing isn’t my strong suit.
Edit: shit, forgot to eject the dvd tray. There is a burner behind door 1. One of those fancy laser label burning ones too, which was an absolute must have despite never finding compatible media for it.

Lots of things like that for me. Looks great in my head, seems easy enough, then ends in frustration and a pile of rubble. Lack of proper tools often has a lot to do with it though. Skill too, if I ’m honest. Nice to dream though.

I had that one also. Bought to build a super cheap gaming rig years ago when I maintained an apartment in Chicago for work when we lived 2+ hours away.
Still have it if anyone wants.

T hanks, I dig it too.
After picking up this little guy last week: https://oppositelock.kinja.com/shitposting-intensifies-1834454943 I may have been bitten by the pc upgrade bug, and have been considering options . Been seriously co sidering s wapping the existing system to another case (including your old video card, lol) and stuffing some new hotness into this one.
I have no compelling reason to do so, but i 9's are good, right? Lol

honestly not worth the cost imo
they run hot as balls and even the 9th gen processors are more or less refreshed skylakes again
so honestly i’d wait another month or 2 and go for ryzen 3000 when it comes out
