Ford told Mrs. Doorhandle her brakes were looking a little dry.

So I went on a rant about stealerships. Am I mistaken? I’ve always liked  the brakes a little dry. I find this Ford Dealer slightly more trustworthy than the other one in town (which is a Ford/GMC dealer).    And them coming up with some bullshit tells me there’s nothing wrong with the car.

Standards are so low for these places, that the best ones are actually just the least shitty

Cut the guy some slack he probably just got out of a meeting where he was told if they don’t increase profit from the service department to make up for the slump in the sales department then they’d have to start cutting jobs. /sarcasm

Wait, I thought it was a bad thing if your brakes were wet.

P robably exactly true.  But I don’t think they’d mention it to a greybeard with general automotive shit all over him. If we had 2 sets of rims, it would never go anywhere near the dealer.

Benz brakes work better dry too?

Only thing I can think of is if the fluid level in the reservoir was extra low, I might be inclined to say that it’s “dry”. But if it was the reservoir, I’d say “reservoir”; not just *the brakes* in general.

Yeah! Believe it or not! They can get a little grabby if there's grease on the pads and rotors, which could be argued as working well, I guess?

I think we may have once told them to go ahead and replace something, and now they think we’ll lie down and think of England.

goes from greasy to burnt and sticky?  I could see that.  I appreciate them reaching, if there was something actually wrong they’d find it.  It goes in twice a year for seasonal tire change.  Mrs always buys the 79 point inspection.   It’s a very good car.  (10 hybrid escape)

Maybe the sliding pins on the calipers?  I dunno.  I don’t trust them as far as I  can spit.

Lol! That reminds me of the time my local GMC dealer told me my truck needed front brakes ASAP, because, “The brake sensors are reading low.”

Riiiiiiiiight.

That was 3-4 years ago. Still riding on the same brakes.

pour a little blinker fluid on it.

I'm very stringent about topping off my blinker fluid, every time I grease my muffler bearings.
