Cranky morning. Mediation today. I am exhausted of conflict and of lawyers who see themselves as intellectual gi ants. Spoiler: we aren’t.

Last night, settlement talks in a case for my biggest client fell apart. This is going to become a high stakes case with potentially more money at stake than any case I have handled before, with a really complicated set of tactical issues.  These are the butt-puckering moments for a defense lawyer.  

The only good news is tonight, I pull that cover off the Sunchaser and drive 180 miles to Sacramento.  Tomorrow morning, we meet at the California Automotive Museum for the 2019 California Carrera, a vintage car rally. Two days of fun, hard driving in the car will be a nice break from this recent stress.
