But I can say just by watching this short clip from the Azerbaijan grand prix that the racing is much closer, and more entertaining, than F1 can hope to be.

That’s because its a spec chassis and you have Formula 1.5 but without williams.

Spec chassis(s?es?) make for great racing.

By the looks of things Formula 1 might soon be Formula 1 without Williams...

The F 2 rac es had more safety cars which usually helps liven the races up and was also absent in the F1 race this year .

But it’s too bad that we need rain or a SC to make the races exciting. I’ve been watching for 20 years, and it’s gotten a lot less interesting, I must say.

Not always, but yes the aerodynamics do get in the way of great racing. Having a dominant team doesn’t help either. Having said that, Bahrain 2019 is still one of the best GPs I have ever watched.

Yes, Bahrain was great, but it’s an outlier. I’m not really complaining about dominance, since I was a Ferrari fan in the Schumacher era. I don’t mind if HamBot keep winning races, but I would at least like it to be close at the end.

This last race wasn’t neck-and-neck close, but it did get a little tense with the pressure that Hamilton kept applying to Bottas in the final laps.
However right after I watched the MotoGP race at COTA (I was a bit behind on the MotoGP races) and was quickly reminded what a truly exhilarating race is.
