Thanks for all of the advice on my post yesterday. As long as the coolant and oil check out clean I’m going to keep the rebuild pretty mild. The body and fairings are in good shape, but the fairing clips are mostly broke so I’m thinking I’m going to do something like this.Prices on most parts don’t seem as bad as I thought. Getting to this point from a stock 250 really doesn’t take much, just removing fairings and replacing lights and signals with something different. Engine and driveline are first priority, once it runs I’ll start making body changes.

Awesome plan!  I'm generally a big fan of naked bikes, but I'm surprised at just how much I like that naked Ninja 250.  I think this is the start of a great project!

I am honestly just not a big fan of the fairings and lights on this bike , but I haven’t seen any streetfighter/cafe conversions that I like. This one is nice.

Don’t throw away the old fairings. The tabs can be repaired or if they are lost, new ones can be made. Perhaps the new owner of the “naked” bike would like an opportunity to try.

I’m not going to throw them away, just take them off. I like the way this bike looks naked, and I’m not a fan of the fairing style on these bikes . Also if I get it running I am keeping it.

You will be happy to fix what you have. I’m am up to 9 different off road toys. All purchased in similar condition to your bike. Every one came with a dirty carb at minimum. The selling price quadruples if it runs. My latest score was purchased for $200. $600 later and it’s super cool and fun. Cheap entertainment
