factory V8 Ranchero
You know these are if I’m not mistaken much rarer than even the V8 convertibles?
Like, they made 328 or so V8 convertibles, but only something like (I think)
2-3k Rancheros *TOTAL*, as demand had cratered. I think there are mere dozens of these feckers that ever existed.

Another note: other Falcon models had a logical progression: Normal ->Deluxe->Futura ->Sprint, if I’m not mistaken. So if you got the V8 you were normally already shelling out. Special ordering a V8 in the Ranchero wasn’t getting you nicer *anything*, automatically. I think the Ranchero got fender decorations in a Deluxe, but this one apparently has power steering (!) and the V8 without being Deluxe’d. 1963 dude who ordered this was a madlad.

Yeah, I think even the subframe is slightly different, so you’d have to have been bonkers enough to buy
*the cheapest truck in America*, and then option it with a V8 at ludicrous cost, then be willing to wait what were probably multiple months to get it built. Not surprisingly, not many takers. Two-door V8 wagons also exist in tiny numbers, and like maybe... 8 v8 sedan deliveries.

I love these rancheros. I saw one done up with a proper satin black paint job at a car show. It was excellent!

What’s not improved with a proper satin black paint job?
