Went to the local FCA dealer to get the airbag recall done on the Charger. I expected Chrysler 200 or similar, but instead I got this huge green truck. Ran 1500 4x4 Big Horn with the tow package, EcoDiesel and the 8 speed. AMA, full review to come.

Can you swing by my house and swap that drivetrain into my v6 gas ram.

Can’t believe they’d loan out a diesel - just asking for someone to put gas in it.

Yeah frankly I was pretty shocked too.

Ecodiesel is a big surprise. We usually only loaned out V6 trucks when I worked at a CDJR dealer.
I really like the Ram and thought it was a good driving truck. Super comfortable, nice steering and the Big Horn package is the best value - 8.4in screen with nice sound system, heated seats/wheel, nicer cloth, etc.
Will be interested to hear what you think coming from a 500.

Enjoy it, I really liked my 2015 1500!

Yeah, gas truck/work truck would not have been suprising.
It is a nice driving truck, I prefer the ‘83 C/K I used to drive every once in a while, but that was 2WD and nostalgia is strong. Soaks up bumps really well. The upgraded cloth is nice, and the Alpine stereo is great. I just wish it was a bit less black plastic inside. 80s Rams had such nice interiors in comparison.
That being said, the Big Horn does seem like the way to go. $54K for a diesel 4x4 crew cab is excellent value. I’m not sure about the VM Motori engine though, they don’t seem to have as good of a reputation as the Cummins.
Ha not coming from a 500, coming from a V6 Charger. Obviously the usual gas vs. diesel differences, but it accelerates nicely, and sounds good. I’ve not driven a Cummins before, but it’s similar in terms of feel to a buddy’s Silverado 2500 with the Duramax/Allison, though you can tell it’s slightly
down on
torque
.
Big issue is that it won’t fit in my driveway, so I have to street park it.

It’s not as good at breaking loose as my V6 Charger, I’ll put it that way.
