T rying to find some zen before the Court of Appeals this afternoon. Even after all this time, it feels big, and I have to shrink it in my head to make it manageable.

Last time I was here, I had nothing to lose. I was representing the Gerawan workers against the UFW and the state and everything had gone against us. I was begging the court to save us. It worked. This time, I feel like my client is overwhelmingly correct, and that scares me.

It’s just a bunch of old guys on a big bench, right?
