i spent most of the weekend working my wood

and this is only half of the boards. I started with 4 and cut 2 down the center. first we ran it through a planer to get the top smooth

then thought another type of planer to square/smooth the sides. the a hand planer to get an imperfections to remove all seams. This guy has an amazing shop. It has some air pla ne parts from when he was a mechanic, motorcycle parts for the 60's bikes he is rebuilding, cello parts, for cellos’s he is repairing/building, and tons of wood for various projects.

I spent the weekend working with wood as welll. No before pictures of the three boards of teak that created this masterpiece. Yeah I’m proud of the final product. Teak and linseed oil always looks good.

There are 4 rails underneath

They join everything and that’s where it bolts to the boat. The boat has 4 aluminum L brackets.

Wood around here is expensive. Like at least $6/board foot, and that's on a really good sale.
