Unrelated car which I spotted this morning :
I’ve never seen a car wrapped like this on the streets. The irony of an anime wrap on an american car wasn’t lost on me.
In other news, m y daughter received this in the mail last week.
Even though she didn’t put Harvard on her school list when she took the ACT and SAT and s he didn’t contact them directly to ask for information, she did well enough to be recruited. She received a matching letter from Yale too. While they were “reach” schools before, now they’re a real possibility.
My wallet is crying.

And congrats to your daughter. It would most likely to be worth considering for the networking she would be able to do

According to what they sent, “ most” families end up paying only $12k out of pocket per school year. I don’t think they are including room & board and other living expenses.

I’ m happy to hear that TWO Ivy League universities reached out.
To be honest, if she wants to pursue an education at one of them, any tuition money spent will be worth it.

Student loans are an option.
I haven’t had to deal with them personally so I should mention that major caveat before making a recommendation. But I hear they’re handing those out like candy, so getting one shouldn’t be a challenge .
(As far as I know - t hey do have a horrible interest rate and bankruptcy doesn’t free you from this , because screw the next generation. But if anyone has a good chance of paying back loans, it’s an Ivy League graduate. )

Neither did I. We are being cautious about student loans. My wife and I are in student loan hell. Six degrees between the two of us with locked-in high interest rates. Financial support from our families was almost non-existent.
She knows that her attendance depends on her ability to get scholarships and grants.

If they’re both recruiting her, then there is probably some big financial aid coming too. Harvard’s endowment is reportedly something like $37 billion.

I’m not 100% on using the itasha label for this based on wrap level - there’s barely any anime girl on it, and mostly patterns with brand names. I would need to see the rest of the car to make a better assessment, Itasha literally means pain car, and I think you know... but I don’t think especially in the S tates there would a more appropriate name for it.
It definitely does not qualify for bosozoku or dekotora so there’s that, at least.
Like, in my mind, the Purracan doesn’t quality for itasha as well and to me they’re about the same level.
