This is the first time I’ve used one, went on pretty easy and I’m already excited about changing the oil next time.

I think they’re the first thing I throw on a car now.

At least you don't have the L83 pan. Those have a big scoop in them on the driver's side that wraps around the filter that leaves you no room to grip it. Complete PITA without an oil filter socket.

What’s that bald spot on your frame rail about?

Ugh. I just changed the oil on the van this morning, and I wish it had one. Looked it up - with shipping, it’d be ~$40. Not sure I can quite justify that for the 3-4 times a year that I change it.

They’re absolutely life changing. I can’t use on on the Honda because the drain plug is too close to some crossmember and it makes me sad.

That is the spot where I clean the oil off every time because the filter drips all over when I take it off. Not bald, just the only slightly clean spot.

The filter drains oil onto it when you change it. Someone wiped too hard and removed the grease along with the oil.

Nice! Apparently accessing the drain plug on my V50 is a bit of a pain, so I need to pick up one of these soon.

What for a vehicle is that?

The grease is there for rust protection.
