All the cars (not just these two) were on jacks. It actually prevented the theft of the two cars .

I’m guessing to prevent stress on the suspension and flatspots on the tires.

Do those seem like really cheap car covers.  I feel that I have something similar.  It is a little rough on the outside for possible protection, and slightly less rough on the inside.
