First English language review that is. The overall looks are growing on me and even though I know lot of people seem to love the wheels I’m still not feeling them. But damn it looks so good inside!
Asian Petrolhead is an awesome channel btw, very detailed and gets to review a lot of the Kiyundai cars months before we see a US review, and he drives them HARD! He already has the first look on the new Sonata:

Hyundai seems to be getting aggressive with their lighting which is cool. I dig the headlight/turn signal extensions onto other body panels.
I like the G90 wheels, they have a Maybach vibe to them..but holy shit imagine cleaning them. Also, the new Sonata’s rear looks even more Civic like on video.

I see Regal, A7, Arteon, & Civic initially. Not a bad thing by any means.
I’m more curious to see a base model, because I tend to only see most Hyundai/Kia’s in lower end spec.

I like the G90, i kinda like the Sonata too but damn i can’t get over those Civic taillights

So... G90 looks like shit, new Sonata looks like shit, new Elantra looks like shit. All are absolutely godawful compared to the previous generations. Does someone at Hyundai need a hug?
G90 went from nice contemporary albeit generic large lux sedan to “yeah put Superman’s logo on the front aaaand fuckin make it look like a Grand Theft Auto Maybach”
The Sonata went from inoffensive I think fairly decent looking midsizer sedan with the COOLEST TAIL LIGHTS EVER in the hybrid model to being a G70 except with a WTF-inducingly huge Avalon grille with oddly sharp body creases in contrast to a relatively soft shape overall and trying to carry over the chrome-strip-coming-from-the-headlights except now it comes off at a weird angle from the headlights following a totally detached character line that looks the absolute most fucking Catfish a car has looked since the 4th gen Camaro.
The Elantra though. The fucking Elantra. The previous gen Elantra was one of the best looking cars in its entire segment. LOOK HOW THEY MASSACRE D MY BOY. The entire car is relatively round and soft and then the new front fascia is literally ENTIRELY COMPOSED OF STRAIGHT LINES. Just like with the Sonata what the fuck even is design consistency anyways? I thought this thing was some sort of shitty photoshop joke at first but dear GOD JUST LOOK AT IT.

Wow that rant came out of nowhere. Do you need a hug was well? LOL
But I do like the your photoshop fix on the new Sonata even if it now looks almost exactly like the current model. I will say having seen the 2020 model in the metal, it looks better in darker colors. Gray or Black and it just blends in. Check that B roll 1:30 in.
Best solution would have been to keep the non-sport Korean market face tho
I really liked the G90 inside and out at the NY auto show but it was the older one. Having realized how many cars look better in real life vs pictures and videos I will reserve judgement about this new one until I do so.
