I would of thought Porsche would of used a VW Group product for a van .
VW Transporter

All the hire firms would only have Toyota on their books I guess

Ye’, just having one of your own brands would look better.
MAN, Scania or VW.

As Pip says... no-one hires out VW - too expensive . And VW only supplies vans to order rather than hold any in company or dealer stock. So they don't sell very many.
So Toyota it is...unless it’s a Hyundai.

That’s a shame but then again, the market for the Caddy, Tr ansporter and Crafter would be dominated already by Chinese, Japanese, Korean and possibly some South Africa built vans.

No vans come from South Africa and no one is hiring out the Chinese vans yet (that I’m aware of)

Really? I thought Chinese built vehicles were doing well over down there.
I need to spend more time looking at Australian market vehicles.

LDV keep trying to make a mark in Britain, but nobody wants them, sort of the way really, LDV formerly a British company bought by the Chinese, left the U.K. then try to make a come back, just like MG.
Over here vans are king really, from
Fiesta vans up to
Transit L4 H3 (high roof LWB)

Caddy does fine but Crafter and Transporter have not been properly supported by VW Oz like they used to be so that dealers can take demonstrator stock without risk. As a result, dealers don't stock them and no-one gets to try before they buy...so they don't buy. Especially when the lead time on the order is 3 to 4 months!
