At a Carmax in Philadelphia.

I’ll be honest, I had no idea how cheap these were, but then again, they are economy cars. This one only has 5 speeds, albeit with the correct number of pedals. In which case, voids the lack of a sixth gear. Given my tendency to shift as quick as possible, that would lead to me be in a higher than necessary gear. There would be a learning curve at first, but not an insurmountable mountain to climb.

Under the hood we find 1.5L inline 4 producing a blistering 10o hp. If you’re keeping score, that’s 314 less than the inline 6 V8 in my M3 produces. Does that translate to quadruple the fuel economy? Nope, not even looking at triple the economy!

However, this thing will be cheap to run. At only $9k, does anyone need a single owner 54k mile economy car that’s not a Versa? I’ll give it my seal of approval.

Is $9,000 cheap for a 7-year-old subcompact? It doesn’t seem cheap to me. I heard from someone that you can get a brand new Kia Forte for that sort of money.

It’s down a lot recently. When I decided to do more than the minimum the last time my 3 broke, I made the decision that I was going to keep the car long term. It doesn’t make sense to get anything else. I don’t do much shopping at home, and I actually do things at work now. It’s still a couple hours, but it’s no where near what it used to be.

For starters, they have A/C. They are more practical due to the hatch trunk, and are more fun to drive. That and they look weirder which makes them better.

I’m surprised it’s already at 18k, I guess it is low mileage. I’m going to say right around 26k, since I didn’t see anything about the rod bearings being done.

This almost makes me want to throw mine on there and see what I could get. 47k miles and two owners.
