the lexus looked like it was trying to take a left from the center lane but had to wait another cycle.

I need a bucket of bricks. I dont know if you can read the sign there but it says NO TURN ON RED. So many people will sit in line and beep at the first person in line waiting for the green to turn right.  I dont want to sit here and listen to that.  have some fucking patients or you might get a copy machine to the head.

I got honked at yesterday for not entering an intersection when there was no room on the other side to exit. Luckily my experience as a cyclist has got my middle finger reflexes pretty well honed.

My concern is visibility (and the notion of keeping the intersection clear at all times for emergency traffic). A lot of intersections lack a green arrow phase for “protected” left turns, so people tend to get antsy while waiting for an opening in oncoming traffic. Left-turners from opposite sides of the intersection creep forward, towards each other, until they’re partially obstructing each other’s view of oncoming traffic, especially in the nearest lane. And because it’s a green signal, the law technically doesn’t require them to wait at the limit line.
