I was very surprised to see that it has been converted to a 4 seater. I would probably put the factory sears back in and make the rear purely a cargo/stereo area.

The only thing is that I wish the back glass wrapped around, as it would if they’d used a Falcon or Galaxie donor.

Kinja'd!!!

But then, only the Galaxie glass is really raked, and arguably neither is raked quite enough.

Maybe if they’d used the hatch from a ‘60...

These were 4 seaters to begin with, but I agree on putting the factory seats back - I don’t like the mouse fur on this car.

The Falcon rear would be too small, I’m sure. The ‘60 would be neat, but would require a lot more metalwork on the tailgate - but the bigger issue there is probably finding a donor.

I think the ‘62 rear would work. The Vista Cruiser skylights are cool, but it’s waaaaayyyy too obvious what the donor car was.

Oh I thought these were 2 seaters. Weird. The Hot Wheels I had as kid lied to me

This gen T-bird was available as a ‘Sports Roadster’, which included a tonneau cover that went over the rear seat area. It was a rare version, and I *think* those cars still had the rear seats under that cover.  That’s probably what the Hot Wheels car was based on.

Yeah, when I saw it, the back glass looked like a trouble spot or “work in progress” let’s say.

But at least they were trying?

On a different occasion, I saw this thing:

I respect the effort, but prefer the T-Bird.

Why are they always for sale when I see them?

I always had such a thing for the original Nomad, but I can’t remember the last time I saw one!

Every generation of T bird through the mid 70s has some attraction to me - I always liked the flare birds from 64-66 better tha n the bullets. But for some reason the square birds from 58-60 have been appealing to me lately.
