Look at that tiny door. If it was suicide door style like it used to be, that’d be cool, but nope, here’s this goofy looking thing. Also, dealership websites are where 90s Geocities designers went to, because that’s the only way I can explain all the dings and bells and chat boxes popping up.

A better integrated door handle would help a lot. If they hid it in the window trim it’d look better.

One negative of a traditional suicide door layout is that you need to open the primary doors to access the rear, which can be a pain sometimes, especially if tend to carry more passengers around. Have 4 traditional doors at least means you don’t have that issue.
However, the positives of that clamshell door configuration is that you have big open access to get cargo into and out of the cab. As shown below with the F150 supercab. And as you mentioned, looks a bit smoother.

Ford manages without a B pillar, but how much better is the GM in a crash? Other trucks that still have suicide rears also include the Tacoma, Colorado, and Ranger (Frontier as well but that’s so old I don’t count it).
