Oh Shit! The Venza is back!

I'll always argue that t he Venza was the right car at the wrong time. It wasn't radically different from a Ford Edge, just marketed differently.

In the U.K. we got the Corolla as the Auris.
Current Auris estate.
The new Corolla estate looks marginally better.

True . I remember some of the Venza commercials: contrary to every other car ad, it actually focused on older people, and poked fun at “millenials”. The Venza was f or old people! The tagline was “Keep on rolling”. I t was marketed honestly to the target demo. But honesty probably doesn’t go far in advertising, because nobody wants to admit they’re old. Everyone wants to think they got a high-riding car because they’re going on crazy off-road adventures, rather than it’s easy to get in and out of.

Actually no. I don’t want that thing here.
We’ve already got
VW Golf and Passat Alltrack
Skoda Octavia Scout
SEAT Leon X-Perience
Audi A4 and A6 Allroad
Subaru outback
Vauxhall Insignia Country Tourer
Volvo V60 and V90 Cross Country
Peugeot 508 SW
Your the lot that wants these bloody things, have em, have em all.

Agreed, they can have it. Corollas/Aurii have been also-rans since decades. A car you buy because you’re paranoid about reliability and consider a car to be nothing but white goods. Things like driving dynamics, a nice interior or decent looks are irrelevant. Now I will admit the new one doesn’t look bad, but based on the reviews I’ve seen the normal one still drives like a wet towel. So the slightly taller one will be worse. Hard pass.

Ye', I don't see the point in the crossovers in the most part, they have their uses and the Skoda Octavia Scout is used quite a bit by the ambulance service, but the police favour the Skoda Octavia vRS.
