I’m attending the Vancouver International Auto Show on Thursday March 21st if anyone wishes to come, feel free! I can give rides to/from the downtown core if you need to save money on parking. You’ll have to ride in the Kia though.

What day(s) would you be thinking of going? I might be able to swing a Friday, Saturday and Sunday for sure but I'd prefer to avoid the crowds.

Friday would be the most ideal for me, Saturday and Sunday are when all the unwashed masses looking to finance a new Chevy over 96 months come.

It’s a 8 -hour drive out for me, basically the whole length of the Fraser but with a shortcut. I’d like to get the MJ out on the highway for a good run at some point. I don’t work Fridays, but there’s some lonely stretches of road between here and there for the middle of the night in a vehicle that you haven’t done more than 100km in yet and reassembled from cheap K ijiji parts and stuff you had laying around.

Yeah, it would be a tough drive, and in March, parts are still going to be snowy!

Maybe try to make the PNW meet in May?

Yeah... It’s a Jeep and still has decent ground clearance, but RWD , open diff, no weight over the rear axle.. . I had rain at barely-above-freezing the last time I drive the Coq around that time of year. Freezing rain is something even I will pack in and sit out. If the weather is sub-optimal the ZJ will tackle the drive no problem, it’s just not as economical. Plus with 4x4 I’d be inspired to take the back way via HWY 24 and over the Duffy so the route would get even longer.

I’ll be in Van Wednesday through Friday. Planning on going to the show Thursday, but could maybe do it Friday morning - I have Saturday obligations at home, so I will head back Friday.

I’ll be staying downtown within walking distance this time.
