Sounds like a bargain. Are these still coming with the really good dieselgate warranty from VW ?

No idea, I’d never buy one to be honest. Just thought it was amusing when it fit that cliche enthusiast vehicle definition.

Throw some attractive wheels on and ditch the front plate. Sold

I’m pretty sure they are, but don’t quote me. It really kinda makes me want to buy one now, where I couldn’t touch ANY decent TDI jetta wagon for under $15k unless it had a jillion miles on it, just a few years ago. Of course, these cars have aged a few years, but most of them haven’t been piling on the mileage that they would have been, ‘cause... you know.
So yeah, these are pretty tempting.

The Dieselgate cars must be an insane deal, because my local dealer sold over 100 CPOs, including a LOT of manuals, very quickly. Even the horrible color combinations and at least a dozen that had the shitty base radio instead of Infotainment.

If you really want a deal, get a friend with a dealers license to snag one of these. They’re trading sub 6k on the wholesale end
(No i cannot help with that)

Almost every used wagon in my area is a Jetta TDI. Apparently the damage was done and the prices reflect that. Sadly, I just can’t make it work -- fuel is too expensive and I don’t drive enough.

Gas or electric (way ahead in the future) for me.

Yeah, the wife already has the family hauler, so I’m thinking of putting my money where my mouth is* and buying electric or P HEV . I have a garage and pretty easy access to a 240V outlet if I tap into my dryer.
*I have been
theorizing
that the ideal
American household of the next 30 years would have
1 gas car
(or hybrid) and 1 full electric to best diversify their needs.

I just recently learned about those warranties in another thread on the main page. Something not many people seem to know about – think we need to create a list of what it means and all the cars covered. Audi A6, Porsche Cayenne, Golf wagons, etc…there’s a lot of goodness there, and with prices being beat to death due to scandal and warranty it sounds like a really tempting deal to get on if we could get past all the mystery surrounding the warranty situation.
