I got to drive a Boosted CRX!

A CRX was on my wish list to review. When I entered the car scene in the Netherlands it was at the pinnacle of the fast and furious craziness, sex spec CRX’s roamed the streets and many more would street race. As time passed the CRX faded into the background along with the first fast and furious films, replaced by newer stuff that can’t quite grasp the epicness that was the original.

The one in the video below? B20b with a turbo... 250whp - 260wtq. I’ll let you figure out how much “fun” that was.

What is your opinion on the CRX? Like? Love? or on the Hate train all the way back to 2001?

i love the crx... but i wouldnt buy one nowadays

i mean.. 95% of them have been modded and hooned to death

and the other 5% are getting a little pricey... and the first thing i’d do with it is mod it.. and hoon it to death

i think i should leave the good ones for people better than me :p

My wife had one in the early 00s. We called it the rocket coffin. Even in her early 30s, people would ask her “is that your son’ s car?”

I liked it - handled well, revved to the moon, interior from the days when Honda did good but simple interiors, and the rear glass is cool.

Hahaha! Classic! And the truth. I know of a stock 2002 wrx. It needs some paint work , but it is bone stock with lowish miles. First thing that would happen after the paint fix is wheels, coilovers, sti wing and an exhaust in short order. Wouldn’t mess with the tune though, too many people blowing them up. Stock ones actually run decent for a long time.

Yup. The CRX always brings up the CRZ in my mind. When the CRZ came out I had high hopes until they said it was a hybrid... Can’t touch the wickedness of the original. A CRZ with a K20 would have been just that.

Oh yeah, it handled like a dream! I can only imagine a proper track build with a high revving VTEC motor. It would be god...

I love them! There are still quite a bunch running around in Holland. It didn’t die out, here, the whole f&f scene luckily got replaced by mostly clean builds.

There still is something about those “sex spec” cars though. The amount of work that goes into them is insane!
