!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
There’s just something heartwarming about the thought that someone bought an Allante new and then babied it for over a quarter of a century.
Also, ALL THE BUTTONS.
I kind of want to submit this to NPoCP, even though a $13k Allante is definitely going to be a CP.

I say submit the trolley. I’d vote NP on it.

Buttons 4ever.
I went to the Honda dealer earlier this week to look for a new family truckster. The first thing the salesperson showed me, before anything else, was the infotainment screen. I preferred the base model Odyssey because it had no touchscreen at all. She seemed surprised. I imagine there are lots of people who buy a car simply because they can have carplay.

I’m sitting with my wife and she push i ng my buttons right now

Yeah, but I bet none of those is a elapsed time button.

‘93 was the only year for the Northstar, which pushes it towards NP, but only slightly. I still really liked these for some reason, if I had all the moneys it would be mine.

Unnecessary car shopping or did you decide to go for it?

There are a lot of ways I could make this into a joke of some kind, combining ‘wife pushing buttons’ and ‘elapsed time’ but you know... I’ll just leave it.

Eh, most All antes I see are absolutely pristine. They’re on of those cars a certain group of people bought and put in storage thinking they’d be worth something some day. Buick Reattas are similar in that regard.

No, just starting to begin to commence looking. I had a free hour while I waited to pick up my son and his girlfriend from the mall, and my dealership was close, so I popped in to see what’s going on these days. Mrs. Ttyymmnn and I are going back on Saturday, and we’re going to look at Toyotas too because they are on the same lot . I’m also peeking at Mazdas and Subarus. Still have not decided on van, SUV, two rows with room for five, etc. All options are open.

That dash makes a Porsche center console feel inadequate.

That centre stack looks like the remote of a 1980s Sony Trinitron. I want an Allante now.

We picked up a 19 Honda Odyssey this year. The screen can annoy at times. Don’t drive it much mostly the wife and kids domain. I do enjoy some of the features tnough since it controls the nav and stuff.

Are they the good kind of buttons?

I looked at the base Odyssey (no arm rests in the second row!) and noticed that, while the screen is smaller, the housing around it is the same. Boo. It’s also the same screen that is in my wife’s 13 Civic. While I don’t want a touchscreen, the information on it can still be rendered in a pleasant fashion. This is not.

I’ve got nothing but time. Unless the van goes belly up, which I don’t predict.

T he infotainment system in Mrs. Shoe Pilot’s Clarity is the most disappointing part of the car. CarPlay is cool, but occasionally the system just goes off the rails and you have to reboot it mid-drive.

Laugh at me if you want, but I don’t think it’s a CP. I think it’s beautiful. Sure, maybe the price is a little high, but I’d be thrilled to own that car.

The extent of what I want in an infotainment system is the ability to play my music without a wire.

Wireless? What kind of wizardry is that?

I went through a few of those in my old VW. Imperfect tech, but it worked well enough.

All those buttons go way beyond distracted driving. I’d crash through everything before I read through them and found the correct button. So many buttons; I must push them all.

His original Odyssey only has 260,000 miles on it, so just window shopping.
