This...this is why:
Not gonna lie, if I ever got a CBX or the rotary powered Suzuki RE5 I’d probably be far more obsessed with them than I am with the smart 453.

That is a gorgeous sound.
I wonder if there are any aftermarket exhausts to make the BMW K1600 sound like that.

OMG, have you not heard of it?
Back in the 90s, all the Japanese companies were competing for new riders from countries with tiered licensing. Basically all fighting to make the dumbest 250cc (most common low tier) sport bikes they could.
The Mc22 was also called the CBR250R, it is a 250cc that has 4 cylinders, revs to 19, an
d makes more than 50hp.

Move over VF500F, I found a new racy Honda I want! These appear to have also been sold stateside, right?

Hell no! We don’t get anything cool :(
We have never had any of the 250cc 4cyl class

BTW, spend some time listening to some of the stuff on this channel, H onda brings out it’s old GP bikes every so often and runs them. Best sounding, to me, is this 125cc 5 cylinder :p

They’re eligible for import. I’ll buy one. In fact, everyone on oppo into bikes should buy a JDM import for next year. We’ll all split a shipping container and do one clusterfuck group ride back to our homes .

I mean, I would legit do that. Would meet new Oppos, go on a road trip, and bring home a rare toy? :D
![]() 02/21/2019 at 13:31 |

Oh..I’m glad these are racing bikes because these would be bad for my bank account.

I would love to do it too. I know it will be a bit like the motorcycle ride equivalent of a shitpost, but as long as everyone’s geared up it should be fine! I will also personally buy peter black a honda squash as his chariot for the group ride :D

The issue I’ve been running in to is that I keep on hearing that japan doesn’t deregister 250cc bikes, making obtaining a us title problematic.
That said, I am totally down to split a container and bring over some neat 2 wheel

I love the CB lineup from the 70s, such beautiful bikes. Convinced me to build my own and ended up with a CB750F cafe bike a few years ago , but over time the engine feels less powerful, the trans slips out of gear more frequently, throttle is not as responsive. It’s lead me to start looking at doing a full motor swap (controls, harness, everything but the suspension) and have been brain storming buying a used Honda CBR500 (2013-present) as a donor bike.

Rode one back when they first came out at my BMW dealer. We all gave it a try. Was very fast in a straight line, but didn’t care to go around corners. Felt like there was a hinge in the middle. But was fun!
