Secret Aardvark is officially my favorite hot sauce. I can handle much hotter ones (including one made with the hottest pepper in the world: Pepper X) but this one is my favorite. It tastes amazing on a wide array of things

It’s even cheap at under 10 bucks for 8oz. Most 5oz bottles of artisan sauces for for 6 to 20 bucks

honorable mention in 2nd place to Los Calientes from Hot Ones

Secret Aardvark I need to find. I’ve seen it recommended too many times as a hidden gem.

The hot ones original hot sauce was garbage for what it cost. Vinegar and chili basically. I've heard their new stuff is better though.

I love habanero salsas and am always looking to try new ones. I love the fruit itself, so I’m happy when the heat can be toned down some. It means I can use more.

I love aardvark, Los Calientes is good but I think Hot Ones Fiery Chipotle was better.

Shoutout to Queen’s Majesty Scotch Bonnet & Ginger as my favorite of all time. It needs the right application (unlike Secret Aardvark that’s good on anything), but when it’s right...damn.

I never understood hot sauces made with the stupid hot peppers. They have no flavor other than burning. A good hot sauce has good flavor and just enough heat to clear your sinuses out. Habanero is the right kind of flavor to burn ratio.

Hotter take, most people can’t cook, so their food needs hit sauce.

However, there are certain dishes (especially in Mexican-American cuisine) where good hot sauce accentuates the flavors.

Not true at all. You need to get hot sauces with flavor. None of them I have are hot for the sake of being hot. They actually taste great

That’s 2 Oppos now that have mentioned Secret Aardvark. A couple of years ago Dusty posted it too . Even before that I’d heard it was great.

Since then I’ ve kept an eye open for it on shelves with no luck. A look now on Amazon shows it at $ 21 for me. Still worth it?
