Mercedes is dropping of an E450 Wagon Tuesday while the Lexus LX570 does not get picked up until Thursday. Parking will be fun.

Once more just to rant. W hen your trim name is a number and the number means nothing, ya done goofed. Im well informed on cars and had to google what 450 means in Mercedes talk.

Yeah, the LX570 should be really nice. Not sure about the grill but it’s still a Land Cruiser.

LC with a dose of Lexus “style”, marginally more poshness, and a better dealer experience. Worth the premium to some.
A co-worker’s husband works for MBUSA, and they get a sweetheart subsidized lease every year. E wagon is the usual choice. They have a new one on order, fairly optioned. I assume a press loaner should be a high option car. IIRC, E wagon customer base has the highest wealth of any MB model demograph ic.

The LX is actually not that much more expensive than the Toyota. Used they’re cheaper .
I hope it’s loaded. I specifically asked for it with the 3rd row rear facing seats because I need to tow people around next weekend. I’m definitely excited to get some Mercs.

I’ve kind of browsed them, I might take the Lexus just based on material quality. However, if I get bitten by the big and frivolous bug (it has crossed my mind, as I’ll be making some kind of car-related move by the spring), the call of a G-Wagen may be hard to resist. Us ed for any of these, of course.
All of the E wagons I have seen in magazine tests have been loaded, like 85K+ MSRP.

The generation right before the full spindlegrill is my favorite LX. It’s about as near to the LC in style and angles as they will ever be it seems too.
Maybe my wife’s friends will actually be impressed then! (Spoiler alert: wagons aren’t cool to early 20s girls but my friends/their boyfriends will think they are)

My big issue with Toyolex of that era, at least in cars I have driven, is that the infotainment is marginal at best , especially for the price point - and I am saying this coming from MB/COMAND. From screen resolution to interface, it just seems off. It might be hard to tolerate. But after having the Armada rental a few months ago, I thought the battleship was k ind of fun, save for the awful awful seats. Nice to be able to just throw things in it, and not worry about decaying roads. High resale floor also helps.
A loaded E wagon, especially with Designo trim, is a seriously posh car. It should impress those who can distinguish material quality - those cars lead in that segment.

I work for Mercedes and still don’t know which engine it refers to
Almost certainly 276 turbo, the V6. But I think they're also using 450 for the new I6.
