Morning Oppo,
I need a watch that I can wear on a daily basis and that’s just overall nice, not in your face, and also doesn’t break the bank.
I have been looking at this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! watch recently, but wanted more options and I know there are quite a few people on Oppo with fantastic taste.
I need a mesh band or even leather, have small wrists and sizing normal metal bands never seems to work for me. Past that I’d like to be under $200 and no funky colors as it’d look weird with the tattoos on my arm.

Can’t go wrong with a simple Casio, or Timex, or Seiko
https://www.casio.com/products/watches/classic/mtpsw300l-7av
https://www.casio.com/products/watches/classic/mtps100-9bv
Timex Expedition series for outdoorsy watches. Timex weekender is an eternal classic.
These Seiko’s are over 250 but you can get a used one or clearance somewhere. Check EBay

https://seikousa.com/collections/mens/products/ssc667 - honestly if you want to have just one watch, this is it IMO. $200 on Amazon : https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-RECRAFT-Quartz-Stainless-Steel/dp/B0792MBNGJ
do it! I don’t own this as I already have too many, but if I were to buy a watch today this would be it.

Fossil is another option.

I like Nixon’s.

I’ve got an apple watch because running, but I wear a timex weekender with a leather strap that I bought via Etsy when I’m not in the office

I’ve always been a Seiko fan. I’ve had a couple of their quartz chronos over the years, still have one of them. Replaced the metal band on the second one with a nato strap, and was very happy with it.

Gold tone = ick. The regular stainless version of the watch you linked is 10x better.
My favorite reasonably priced watch with a mesh band is the Bulova Lobster but the lowest price I’ve seen on it is still over $300.
Skagen makes a bunch of slim watches with mesh bands, and they’re all for the most part well under $200. I have an old one from like 10 years ago that I still wear. Of their current lineup, I like the Rungsted. Mine is a titanium case which sounds cool but it’s easier to scratch than stainless so bear that in mind.

I quite like the breitling aerospace on my wrist today. Might be a little over budget, but you can get a used on of similar vintage, mine is a 1990, for right around $1000.

If you’re

This Seiko 5 made me a watch person again. Less than $100 from Amazon and comes in a variety of colors. It came with a cloth strap that I surprisingly didn’t completely hate when I took it out of the box, but I immediately paired it a Hirsch leather strap (that cost as much as the watch). A similar watch, strap and spring bar tool would cost you less than $200.
I really like this watch. I enjoy the anachronism of wearing a completely mechanical watch in 2019. No battery replacements for me.
I’ve contemplated picking another one and polishing the bezel to match with a more formal strap for the three days a year I wear a suit to work.

I really like these guys.

I have a citizen with the eco drive. I am pretty disappointed in the quality. When I put it in my gym bag the chrono hand can be b umped around so it no longer lines up with zero. It is a pain to reset. I’d try something else if you end up with something with a chrono

I have some Skagens. They do good mesh bands. I am a fan of Fossil for a daily. Both of these are in the $100 range.

If you say daily I’d stay away from mechanical at that price. I had 2 of those Seiko 5’s everyone is so high on. The first lasted a couple years and the other mayb a year. I went with something with a mecha quartz movement and am happy thus far. It is accurate and the mechanical chronograph is useful to me often. Search mecha quartz if you aren’t familiar. You can find a bunch of Seiko watches with those movements (they are the only ones who make them) for less than $200. You will also find the movements in a bunch of boutique watch companies with a little more attention to quality and detail, but those start to get pricey. That’s how I exceeded my budget looking at a good daily watch!

Man for a second I thought that last Seiko was a solar mecha quartz. They need to make that happen. Still cool though. I’d like to see the difference in the chronograph movements between it and a mecha quartz.

Oye, sad to hear of quality issues

I have a Tag Heuer Formula 1 (ooooohh, f ancy) and a Shinola like this (image). Nobody notices or cares when I wear the Tag. The Shinola stands out and gets a lot of compliments.
The bulk of their collection is $400-$1000. The leather straps are superb and many options are available. Something else to consider, and I didn’t see it mentioned

Lambretta makes some pretty stuff and the company has automotive pedigree . They redesigned their Imola watch recently and some vendors have the old version discounted to below your budget. Their Marco is pretty nice too i f you don’t mind a rubber strap (but it’s made from recycled tires!)

This is the version I have.

+1 on Seiko’s. I have a slight obsession with them. A Sekio 5 would be perfect, along with the others people have been suggesting.
I’ve seen some decent deals at jomashop.com

I stopped wearing wristwatches twenty years ago.
