I am not a serious sneaker head, but when I saw these at the mall today, I had to have them. I couldn’t have them when I was young, back in 1997 - I made $50 per month and these were $100+ , but when I saw them for $95 at the store, I couldn’t say no.
Of course, they had 11.5 or 13, but no 12s, so I ended up ordering them for a bit more, but I don’t care.
File this to impulse purchase of the day

I never understood the shoe game, but I’m glad you got something that made you happy. Especially something with nostalgia. Those are my favorite type of buys too.

These hit on many levels - I was a refugee and couldn’t afford anything but Red Cross shoes for a while, so I walked around with a massively ripped shoe. This was in a culture similar to young urban youths of today.
Then, I could finally afford a pair per year, but I played a ton of basketball and was really into NBA, so following players and shoes they wore was huge. Pippen wore this particular model when Bulls ruled the world. I had a pair worn but Chris Webber, and then a pair worn by Kobe. Now I play a few times per year, and I used to play 6 hours per week.... but now I’m old and fat :)

Are you implying these are fugly!!!? Blasphemy! These are the height of 90’s basketball shoe design.

What is a mall? I vaguely remember a bygone time where goods were stored in a large structure with smaller specialized structures inside. There were stands that sold orange juice mixed with eggs, a court with low quality food and large rooms where Netflix was projected on a wall. Is that a mall?

Well, 80’s child finds a way to go to places that are age appropriate. All kidding aside, Cherry creek mall started charging for parking and yet, I had to cruise around to find a spot to park, and both Starbucks locations inside had 4-5 people in line and as many waiting for drinks.

‘I’m old and fat’ haha feel you there.
I wasn’t huge into basketball, but the two people I loved as a kid were Scotty Pippen and Mugsy Bogues

I loved both of them. Always thought it was awesome someone so short did so well in NBA. I’m only 6ft so it gave me hope :)
And correction, I used to play 6 hours a day, not per week.
