First rehearsal, and a lot of this goes like a bat out of hell. And it’s a little bit outside my comfort zone. But we’ve got a solid lead player, and I’m sitting behind the saxes, who’ve got this fast swing thing down pat. Looking forward to a cold beer when I get home.

It is and it isn’t. We’ll never be as tight as it was in 1952. But it’s fun. I’m not great at this style, but I love playing it. And I love the music.
