A thing that has been forgotten (as opposed to the even more forgotten Alfa 6) from Renault. A posh alternative to the 4. Replaced by the equally forgotten 14.
However, they weren’t all that staid. Meet the 6 Rodeo, which could be had with 4wd.
You were wondering about the Alfa 6 weren’t you? Here you go. Bigger version of the Alfetta, same doors.
It’s claim to fame, initially at least, was a carburettor
for each of those six c
ylinders.

I’d say the 14 is way more forgotten than the 6! They were very popular in South America at least .

Renault 6? Forgotten?
They’re literally everywhere in Colombia to this day. Just like the 4 and Twingo.

They are? How about the Alfa 6?

Quite likely. An uncle of mine had an R14, but they never hit the mark from the sales point of view.

I can count the Alfa models ever imported with the fingers on one hand. The 6 was not one of them. There are a few Alfetta GTVs running around, but no 6s.

Styling-wise I’d see the 16 as a successor but I guess it was one size/class bigger/upmarket.

If I am going French 6 from this era I am going Citroen Ami 6
Something with a little more panache.
My dad had a Renault 8, he loved it until it died, which didn't take a real long time as I recall. It was a neat car, have looked for a decent example on and off over the years.
