Mrs. Shoe Pilot buying a plug in hybrid and getting that sweet tax credit certainly isn’t hurting. The refund ought to pay off the car and then there’s some left over for something else super exciting like a contribution to a retirement account or something, though I’d much rather blow it on parts for the upcoming Major Clown Shoe Projects (plural) .

By 'super exciting' I assume you mean 'a motorcycle'?

I’ve owned 3 motorcycles and though I enjoy them, I don’t enjoy them enough to continue owning one. I sold off the Grom last year and miss it a little, but only a little.

The hardest thing to do in a case like this is to just keep the damn money and not spend it, haha.

When fun is paying into your retirement fund or paying down a debt with your refund, you know you’ve gone full adult.

I am significantly beyond the halfway mark based on the life expectancy for the year of my birth, so I guess it makes sense that I go full adult from time to time. Livin’ that DINK life helps though. We can get away with a lot of irresponsible shit that our friends with kids can’t afford to do. For instance, Mrs. Shoe Pilot will buy pre-chopped onions at the store.
