Couple of channels I subscribe to had new Chevy Blazer reviews, but inventory has been on sale for weeks apparently so I checked it out . The fancy ones they have for the press drive will not be common and something like this is what you’ll see mostly on the roads. And this is not even base, this is higher up 3LT trim with a $45K MSRP
What’s with that window kink?
Interior is Ok I guess
These things are expensive as well. But already discounted. You can load up the top level trim to over $50,000.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
This is the RS trim that they gave the reviewers, for comparison

So they took the face of the Toyota iA and put it on the back. Nice.

I’ll never understand who buys Chevys
![]() 02/04/2019 at 17:35 |

There are good Chevys and bad Chevys. People can say the same about any brand for that matter, including the ones you personally like .

I didn’t even know they were bringing back the Blazer. I fail to see the need for this product.

I agree, but none of GMs vehicles speak to me. Other than a corvette

I’m no automotive sales expert, but I guess they are looking at the death of the American sedan and realized that they couldn’t compete. I just read a comparison of this with the Ford Edge. All of these things are plug ugly.

I t’s 2019. No point questioning the “need” for more crossovers filling every single gap and niche anymore. It’s literally like the flavor of the month these days.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 17:42 |
|
But whats need does this fit that the Trax and Traverse doesn’t? Why do they need another crossover when they already have a bunch?
![]() 02/04/2019 at 17:42 |

Kinda funny that you get the rental car spec wheels with giganto sidewalls on the first 4 trims and only the RS and Premier get the bigly ones.
Then again, at least replacement tires will be cheaper.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 17:43 |

Those are 18's they seriously look like rental spec 15's
![]() 02/04/2019 at 17:45 |

What the hell are they drinking over at the GM design studio?
Thats really bad.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 17:46 |

Because the Blazer name sells?
![]() 02/04/2019 at 17:46 |

It looks tiny on the inside
![]() 02/04/2019 at 17:55 |

What the hell are they drinking over at the GM design studio?
Beer with Corn syrup obviously.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 17:56 |

So slap that on the Trax.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 17:57 |
|
you forgot the Equinox so literately with every 6 inches of length they’re making a crossover. Trax-Equinox-Blazer-Traverse
More mediocre choices yay!
![]() 02/04/2019 at 17:57 |

That color isn’t doing it any favors. The red looks decent, I’d imagine that most lighter colors would. The dark grey just looks like a blob.

It is, Passport and Edge are the space kings in this segment

I will admit that the LTZ Traverse I had as a rental wasn’t that bad, I’m trying hard to figure out how this
is not a Traverse Short box?
![]() 02/04/2019 at 18:03 |
|
It is. They NEED one in every segment now right? Subcompact->Compact->Midsize->Large-> XL->XXXL whatever
![]() 02/04/2019 at 18:04 |

Direct competition to the Honda Passport, will soon be competing with the new Ford Bronco that will be a short wheel base Ford Explorer...

A new *sporty* c rossover to throw money at once you have a partner, kid/dog, etc and the V6 Camaro in the driveway doesn’t cut it anymore.

Toyota needs to get in the game here and shorten up a Highlander and call it “
The
Welshman”.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 18:05 |

Uh, so like every other crossover out there??
This just s eems par for the course, really.

I thought the Equinox was the big one?

T he c-pillar roof thing bugs me, but I don’t hate it - it’s kinda quirky like the first gen Nissan Muranos. T his is basically the same as what Honda did with the Passport, right? Tighten up the run of the mill midsized CUV platform to make it a bit more “offroady”. Pricing looks about the same too.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 18:10 |

This has gone badly, why are they trying to copy Toyota but doing a terrible job? Stop making alien shuttle craft.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 18:12 |

Faux floating C-pillar still gives me a mild rage twitch.
Look for hilarious residuals thanks to fleets.

I’d full size truck chevy but that’s about it.

This is set up to go against the Edge Murano santa fe but they don’t make any claims about off road capability. The passport is the #Rugged one in this class.

CX5, Lincoln Aviator beg t o differ on the claim that all crossover s are ugly .

BTW, I happened to see one parked o ut in front of the Chevy dealer by my gym the other night, with similar rental-spec wheels.
It’s just....meh.

I do admit... I just built a Passport on the Honda website , I’d rather have that over any of those others and the one I’d get is only $34,900...
![]() 02/04/2019 at 18:29 |

Chevy should consider outsourcing wheel design. These look like the came off a 2002 Malibu.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 18:31 |
|
Seems to be a good overall package but not my kind of vehicle. I just built a mid level EX-L AWD with some options for over $ 40K, whoo boy!
![]() 02/04/2019 at 18:32 |
|
They should consider outsourcing ALL design.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 18:45 |

does anyone know who this thing is supposed to be for? There is no room between the Equinox and Traverse for it to be considered a medium...what am I missing?
![]() 02/04/2019 at 18:46 |
|
Totally disagree. The Mazda only looks decent because it just a version of the Mazda 6. Then you realize how swollen and fat it is in comparison and youre back to ugly crossover.
And the Aviator is a tacky mess with enough bling to make the 90s blush.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 19:08 |
|
They'd still have the rest of the vehicle to contend with .... Woof.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 19:09 |
|
Yeah, but the Equinox already competes with the Edge.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 19:11 |

There have been many great Chevys over the years. This is not one of them.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 19:12 |

Seriously, whoever is in charge of Chevy styling needs to be fired. Ed Welburn left, and the whole place fell to shit.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 19:12 |

I at least like how the passport looks.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 19:14 |

I completely agree with you. I can't figure it out, and it's HIDEOUS!!!
![]() 02/04/2019 at 19:15 |

I guess when I think chevy, I think aveo, cobalt, cavalier. Not so much Corvette, Camaro or Trucks
![]() 02/04/2019 at 19:20 |

That’s awfully narrow minded of you ;)
And frankly that's a perfect illustration of GM's image problem.

40 year old suburbanites that want ANGRY HEADLIGHTS to rebel. I’m remined of this “her yellow suv is now the enemy.”
![]() 02/04/2019 at 21:33 |

The press photos of the red RS model looked decent I must say. This though, I could easily confuse for a 5 year old Equinox or a Rogue.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 21:56 |

I see the floating c pillar has migrated to chevy.
![]() 02/04/2019 at 22:20 |

Whoever is in charge of design at Chevy these days should be fired immediately.

“OK I guess”
Chevrolet in a nutshell.
