If it won’t fit in a van, it ain’t worth a damn.

Oh really? Trust me you don’t want to manually load 1,800 lbs of sod 1 piece at a time into a van.

I can stand a washing machine upright in my GMC Safari.

That truck is overloaded.

If you have rear doors on both sides it might actually be easier because you don’t have a tailgate or bed sides in the way.

Cute height limit you got there.

Vans may have height limits, but a certain wagon doesn’t

I just saw one of those IRL

I agree, but only in reference to full size vans.

I worked with a guy with a first gen L ightning. We would put almost 2k pounds of asphalt patch in it. I would drive it, h e didn’t understand slowing early, etc with weigh. Lightning came with 350 springs, so I was told back in the day. Bonus the super wide tires were great for packing down the patch after tamping. Love those trucks.

This was loaded on a pallet using a fork lift.

I demand more van content on opposite!

4500 lb maximum payload. 6 feet height limit. Side door fits
1 pallet by forklift
. Rear door fits second pallet. I’ll skip
transporting
2 tons of
manure but sod wouldn’t be too bad.

My stuff can't get stolen out the back :P

It'd fit upright, it was just easier to tip it up into the car like that.

I’ve hauled smelly leaky engines and transm issions in this thing so *shrug*

These pics are old; 2007 and 2009. Much of the paint has since fallen off the Safari. I’ve driven that van from the Pacific to the Atlantic and back three times.

We might have had to wiggle it or tilt it. We had to transport the washer and drier both, so needed to stand them up. That Safari is a Hercules car.

An d at that point it’s a break-in and whatever you take is covered by insurance. Can’t s ay the same about a truck bed :)

i can fit several
grocery bags in my truck’s bed, so HAH

And if you park it in a public lot for a few hours, how many will still be there when you return?

I just drove it to work. I never tire of driving that vehicle.

Can you comment on the ergonomics and driving position? What year is yours? Any major repairs? How hard are they to work on? What’s your gas mileage, in general? You have the 2WD or 4WD? Can I ask a litany
of additional questions?

It’s a ‘97 with ‘05 front seats. I recently modified them so they’d go back another 1-1/2" which was huge. We got 15 MPG towing that popup trailer cross country. I bought it needing a new transmission, and I soon thereafter had a Goodwrench reman 4.3L installed. Not too difficult to work on once you get used to yanking out the front seat in order to remove the dog house. I also had the rear axle rebuilt two years ago, and I’ve had to replace an axle shaft. What else ya’ wanna know?
