The front of this R56 Mini was maybe 3 inches farther into the space than my car, but you get the idea.

I miss the FUCK out of our R53 cooper S. Luckily they are super cheap. I’ll get another as soon as we have the space.

Is there any way to keep a full-sized spare? I vowed never to have a car without one.

My car has no spare at all. It came stock with shitty- ass runflat tires that are so horrible, I and most other owners ditch them for regular tires.
I believe Minis being of similar BMW parentage are also on the runflat tire bandwagon.

Yeah, I learned that while doing some digging into the S. I know Mini dumped the spare, but perhaps there’s a way to fit at least a donut in there somewhere.

Donut can fit in the boot

Towing coverage on my insurance is just as effective as a donut.

Better than nothing. Can anything else fit in there at the same time?

Love my R56s.
Just got a new set of snows, decided to risk it without runflats this time. I carry a lot of tools for work so the back seats are very seldom up. I think I’ll just get a bag and keep one of my summer (all-season) tires back there.

So, that depends on how you define the boot: if you use the Mini like me and always have the rear seats folded down then yes, you will have a lotta space for other stuff.
If not, you should still have space for a carry on bag.

I've driven 30,000 miles with non run flats.... it'll be fine

Yes in the trunk or on the roof, haha. I roll no spare in all but the alltrack. I like to live dangerously and also make new friends.

Yea fuck run flats I carry a patch kit and a AAA card w a 300 mile tow. I don’t like the weight of another wheel and tire.
