To quote Uwe Boll: “I’m the only genius in the whole fucking business!”
Why do I say this? Because I have established stock Galaxie 14" hubcaps will fit 15" wheels by clipping them inside a 15" trim ring costing $13.

So it is written, “Veriy take thine stock Galaxie 14" hubcaps and gird them inside a 15" trim ring costing of $13 to fit some bitchin’ 15" wheels.”

I hope it turns out better than the works of Mr. Boll.

Scale representation:
Compare with:
Makes the chromey part of the wheel a good bit
larger, because the stock wheel is inset into the steelie with about 3/4" black steel showing all the way around.

So do we get a picture of your hackery or what?

If I remembulate correctly, 15" steelies for a Ranger probably fit, but it was a while ago. Shouldn’t actually need to order up anything custom.
I’d looked at aluminum “steelie style” wheels and just hoping to test on one whether the hubcap retention tabs + added thickness of the rim from being cast would work out, but... why do that when this works?

I will try to remember to take
pics
later. I should have done that Friday when I tested it. It will be best if I display
test them on a 15" steelie.

Exactly where on the continuum from “if it’s stupid and it works: isn’t stupid” to “if it’s stupid and it only kind of works: still stupid” I’ll land, somewhat TBD.

That’s a weirdly specific and situationally appropriate thing for him to say

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but he’s kind of a weird fuck. The line is hilariously quotable for everyday things , though, particularly if quoted ironically.
