This one’s a bit out of left field, but I wouldn’t mind a middleweight adv bike. This guy has two listed for sale. One fairly kitted out, and one closer to stock. Both low mileage. What say you?

Id avoid klrs of that generation myself, all the downsides of the previous gen with more weight. If you are shopping them, a pre 2008 klr is a better bike.

The KLRs seem like a reliable—albeit bland—workhorse, no? For seattle commutes and weekend adventures might be better than the sportier bikes I’ve been lusting after...

You’re assuming someone would touch that Triumph. It  was ugly long before the wacky paint job. Although I've got to wonder what color one-piece suit the original rider wore when riding

What are the downsides? I feel like I may have watched a review or two but I don't know much about them.

again, like a lada. its cool and adventurey for the first 6 or 7 months.
then you realize that its a 30 year old design and it fucking SHOWS.

crap suspension
carb
5 speed
40? HP. not great on the freeway
vibrates like hell.

reliable? oh yea.
a honda hornet is also silly reliable, and a WAY better bike than that.

Heavy, outdated (pretty much all components are unchanged from 1987 spec) , and slow. It’s a fine transportation device, and will get you absolutely wherever you’re going, but I’ve never felt any kind of connection to a ny of the ones I’ve ridden.

Fwiw the DR650 and XR650L are both slightly better bikes in the same class

Damn. I didn’t know carbs were still a thing. I’m guessing I’d be happier with a small dirt bike and a big naked bike than trying to get it all in one package . I really shouldn’t buy anything unti winter ends and I sell the Miata anyways.. .

I’m still so bummed all the local Ducati dealerships closed shop. I miss hopping on rediculous bikes for a few hours every weekend

I like the green and yellow bike. It’s like wearing a hi-vis vest but it’s your whole bike. Not a bad thing

that Yamaha scrambler has a deceptively high seat height, in case you are a little short in the inseam as i am, i was going to buy one and had to pass for that reason

Ducati has really been killing it in the design department . Even their “cruiser” is appealing to me

Huh. I tried the MT09 and it felt pretty good, but I’ve yet to toss a leg over the naked version... Thanks for the heads up!

What did you end up going with?
