Imagine what the underside looks like then. Probably pretty unsafe to drive at speed.

Northern state living is hard on these. And PA isn’t that far north.

I’ve seen a lot of rusty old Sprinters like that here, and usually cars don’t rust that much in Colorado.

Sprinter van gets shot up with gunfire.  Rust ensues.

My University bought a handful of these about 4 years ago for the mail service on campus. Vermont winters mean they don’t look much better than this. These are vans that don’t even see public roads and can’t have more than a couple thousand miles.

Daimler made those pieces of shit out of compressed rust.

They were all manufactured in Germany, regardless of the badge, and they all rusted like that, whether badged Mercedes, Dodge, or Freightliner.

The only time you’ll see a non rusted sprinter is just before it leaves the production line

Yep, they rust just like that here too . Note that this rust is from the outside, not the inside. If I were CEO, somebody would be packing their desk for approving that spec.

Instead probably everybody got bonusses. And then they moved on to  neat new jobs cost reducing software supply chain costs at Boeing.....

Difference being that, in Germany at least, they’ll fail inspection and get taken off the road long before they reach this stadium.

Body on Frame, the frames usually are nowhere near as prone to rust.

Found in a  larger town in PA. It’s certainly a possibility!

As a former resident of PA I assure you this does not in any way pass the annual safety inspection requirements they have.

I’ve seen the 2002-06 gen do that but not the later ones. From a van forum - Internet doesn’t believe it:

“One thing that the guy did on purpose was cover up the VIN when he was showing the door data sticker. Would have liked to get the VIN from that van to see the history on it and where it had been. Could have been a flood vehicle that caused a lot of that rust and the area around the windshield looked to have been under a tree for a long time and got leaves and dirt around it”

I’d say that would buff out. But I’m guessing that applying any amount of pressure to a body panel will result in your orbital buffer (as well as your arm) being suddenly inside the van.

It’s fairly common in areas with snow and salt. This is one of the worst ones I’ve seen though.
