I get why they did that. The game is hard for those who are used to arcade games. Thankfully you can turn everything off.
I don't know if forza 5 has simulation mode for steering, but I don't recommend it unless it unless you have a wheel.

D efinitely turn brake and steering assistance off. And maybe ABS off if you’re feeling brave.
Turning everything off will make you faster too

I always run with abs off. It doesn’t take long to get used to applying just enough pressure.
Si mulated steering is too annoying when going oppo though. Needs a wheel for sure.

I play Forza games mostly because they aren’t too realistic, while also not feeling like an arcade racer. I’ve logged way too many hours in Forza Horizon 4 for that reason. It’s fun without being immensely frustrating that I’m not a great gamer.

I like to run with everything off. It doesn’t make me faster, I have more spins and adventures off the track. But I’ll adjust the AI to cater for that. I’d rather it feel real as it can.
First race you don’t have that option. You’re pretty much watching a video of the race and told it’s a game

Mmm it is a pain. I found in the S2000 it’s *very* hard to correct slides without over doing it. I’m sure it’s far easier in real life, which means they fucked up making the game.

I’ve only recently picked up an Xbox for the first time. 5 is cheaper and I’ve never played it anyway ;) All things going well I’ll move up to 6 and 7 later.

Haha, that’s cool. I’d just rather hear 5 is better. I’ll make my own mind up.
TBH the whole Xbox owner thing doesn’t fit me well. The load times are excruciating, both on the console and this game (and Breakpoint!). The battery powered controller is bullshit and the UI is confusing as hell.

Are you using simulation steering without a wheel? If so, that’s why.
If you h ave simulation on and use a controller, then the paddle is the wheel and unless you delicately mak e small inputs, it will be like sawing at a steering wheel.

Ah I see. I am doing that. It’s not so bad on the MR2. I don’t know why the S2000 was so touchy, should be the other way around. I’ll consider changing the steering mode though if it’s too frustrating.

For the first race? The big showy introduction to the game, where you’re just meant to go out and have a play in the P1?
Yeah it’s only 1 race. But it soured me on the game a bit and it’s meant to have the exact opposite effect

I ts hit or miss for me. I used to use it all the time, but it’s no fun with twitchy cars or if you try to drift.
