Boxing day sales happened and I tripped and fell and bought a new PC. Realistically, it started off with “I need a new monitor, but my PC has been having graphics issues, so I need a new graphics card”. Which then snowballed into “well I might as well get some other stuff too since it’s all on sale”. Anyway, it was going to happen eventually. Looking forward to eventually getting everything in probably three weeks!

Question, do you have a copy of Win7 laying around that you could’ve installed on it? Because if so, you could’ve installed that, then used the Miscrosoft Upgrade Tool to convert it to a copy of Win10 for free and not had to have spent like $140+ on a new copy of Win10.

I just ordered a RX 5700 to upgrade from my GTX 1060 today - I ordered a new ultra wide 1440 monitor a few weeks ago but hadn’t installed it yet because I wasn’t sure which graphics card I wanted to upgrade to.

I was waffling between a RX 5700 and the XT but saw Dell selling a 5700 for $280 which was too good a deal to ignore and bought it!

Also that 3600x is awesome - I upgraded from a 2600 a couple months ago to a 3600 and love it.

I’m coming from a 2500k, no SSD, DDR3 RAM, it’s going to be night and day.

My old PC is also currently dead, which makes the rest of it a moot point, but still!

Yeah I’ll be selling it after I get it out - ASUS 6gb 1060 with a blower fan but its actually quiet and cool.

It’s gonna be hard not to do this. Although I’m staying at 1080p so realistically I just need to upgrade my CPU to a first or second g en Ryzen 5. Since some modern games 4c/4t is a ticket on the struggle bus.

Ryzen 3 1200. 90% of the time it’s good enough for 60fps. But it’s frustrating when it’s not. Since you can’t just turn down a few settings like a GPU bottleneck.

That said I also have a GTX 970. And there doesn’t seem to be a worth while upgrade at 1080p.
