It was as good as I remember. My kids at 16 and 13 were totally into it and loved it to. Yes this from a movie released in 1986.The only really cheesy part is the drop ship flying through the clouds otherwise the effects are top notch. The pacing is good too and I found myself vested in the characters.

Aliens is an excellent movie and a GREAT sequel. Very different from Alien. So many great quotes and a great 3rd act

I watch this movie at least three or four times a year.  Out of all the movies that came out in this era, this one by far has held up the best.  The score is incredible too, it really pumps up the adrenaline during the crazy scenes.
