This is an amazing picture with a cool story!

But I forgot the my favorite part about this picture - how they were able to take amazing pictures like this in the mid 50s!?

I read th is explained in a comment on Reddit. It had something to do with better camera and film that available but really expensive, so it’s use was limited to professionals only. If someone can find that factoid, it would be awesome.
