I would guess because hanging American flags where they’re guaranteed to be saturated in exhaust smoke and splattered with mud and gravel is kind of disrespectful, but the people who do this are actually attempting to do the opposite.

It’s an El Camino, which in my mind should automatically make it cool. Just not sure if it is cool or not, I should have looked to see if there was a front diff, if it’s converted to 4wd it definitely would have been cool.
EDIT: Also what ranwhenparked and gmporschenut said.
